Light of Christ, November 21: Advent Consecration to the Sacred Heart of the Baby Jesus (rosary365.substack.com)
RHP: Breviary, “The Divine Office” COMPLINE ROSARY
Night Prayer, contemplating tomorrow’s
Memorial of the Presentation of Our Lady at the Temple.
INTRODUCTION
God, + come to my assistance.
— Lord, make haste to help me.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
— as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen. Alleluia.
Examination of Conscience
A brief examination of conscience may be made. In the communal celebration of the Office, a Penitential Rite using the formulas of the Mass may be inserted here.
[I confess to almighty God
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned,
in my thoughts and in my words,
in what I have done and in what I have failed to do,
And, striking their breast, they say:
through my fault, through my fault,
through my most grievous fault;
Then they continue:
therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,
all the Angels and Saints,
and you, my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God.
The absolution by the presider follows:
May almighty God have mercy on us,
forgive us our sins,
and bring us to everlasting life.
— Amen.]

TODAY IS THE FEAST OF THE PRESENTATION | WATCH THE new EPISODE led by the NARRATOR OF THE ROSARY HOUR PODCAST — FR. CHRIS ALAR, MIC from EPISODE 167 on LIVING DIVINE MERCY:
THE FIRST TWO LUMINOUS MYSTERIES
The Mysteries traditionally adhere to certain days of the week and Thursdays are typically the day when we recite the Luminous Mysteries introduced by St. Pope John Paul II.
First Mystery of Light:
The Baptism in the Jordan.
"And when Jesus was baptized, he went up immediately from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and alighting on him; and lo, a voice from heaven, saying, 'This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased"' (Mt 3:16-17).
We offer you, Lord Jesus, this first decade in honor of your Baptism in the Jordan River, and we ask you, through this mystery and through the intercession of your Most Holy Mother, a profound openness to the gifts of the Holy Spirit today and throughout our lives.
Second Mystery of Light:
The wedding feast of Cana.
"On the third day there was a marriage at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there; Jesus also was invited to the marriage, with his disciples. When the wine failed, the mother of Jesus said to him, 'They have no wine.' And Jesus said to her, 'O woman, what have you to do with me? My hour has not yet come.' His mother said to the servants, 'Do whatever he tells you"' (Jn 2:1-5).
We offer you, Lord Jesus, this second decade, in honor of the memory of the miracle of Cana, when you turned water into wine; and we ask you, through this mystery and through the intercession of your Blessed Mother, that we may be able to recognize the miracles in our lives.

CHRISTMAS UNPLUGGED
LET’S MAKE THE CAROL SINGING TRADITION PART OF CHRISTMAS AGAIN BY
LEARNING “O COME ALL YE FAITHFUL” WITH THE ROSARY HOUR PODCAST
You don’t need to go door to door — though you just might … once you “Download the score” of “O COME ALL YE FAITHFUL”.
Why not send this PDF to your friends and family to learn to sing together as a goal for Christmas Day.
If you know someone who can play an instrument, ask them to prepare this first song for your “SONGS OF PRAISE” time together. Or learn to play it yourself!
For December 24/25, share this goal for all you know to download this song to their devices and learn the words by your gathering, parish community gathering and coffee hour, or just to sing with your children before bed or on Christmas Morning.
OLD SCHOOL GOAL: Just do something UNPLUGGED together to “Praise the Lord”.
Thank you for listening to the Rosary Hour Podcast
p.s. for those who think a modern YouTube performance might help inspire the younger generation… try Pentatonix and “O Come, All Ye Faithful”, a favorite group of Amelia’s (now 10) she was 2-years-old, and for those who might be far from the Church but love Gospel and/or a capela. Enjoy.
LYRICS TO SING ALONG or FOR YOUR SOLO PRACTICE SESSION
O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem!
Come, and behold Him, born the King of angels!
Refrain:
O come, let us adore Him;
O come, let us adore Him;
O come, let us adore Him, Christ, the Lord!
2 God of God, Light of Light,
lo, He abhors not the virgin's womb;
very God, begotten not created; [Refrain]
3 Sing, choirs of angels; sing in exultation;
sing, all ye citizens of heaven above!
Glory to God, all glory in the highest![Refrain]
4 Yea, Lord, we greet Thee, born this happy morning;
Jesus, to Thee be all glory giv'n!
Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing! [Refrain]
